where did the comedy go?

Ok, I 'm incredibly frustrated at the lack of good family comedy show on television! Where did they all disappear to? Now everyone watches either reality tv or all of those Crime Scene/Drama type shows that do nothing but make me feel nervous. Where did the "Friends" go? Or Fraiser? Or Everybody Loves Raymond? Or Seinfeld? My only refuge is to watch The Office and Scrubs but even Scrubs is lacking.

I'm sad. Maybe I will write the Network Executives...

Amanda's Birthday

Jeremy, Jonathan Lee and I went to Rod's house to celebrate Amanda's birthday! After about an hour of trying to get the grill going, Jeremy and Rod grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for a group of us. After playing around and eating, we had a dance party in Rod's living room. I was so proud of Jonathan for dancing! He's a pro! Of course, he and Jeremy spent the majority of the dance party taking pictures of themselves! Happy 25th to my lovely sister! I hope this year is the best yet!

Me in the Living Room! Look how Tall everything is!

I want to tell you the heartwarming story of two young ladies, Lindsey and Sonya, finding their dream apartment and finally getting to share living space after almost 12 years of friendship. They have endured many trials and many victories over the years, there have been seperations by distance and by different lifestyles, but now they shall embark on one year of the most entertaining, stylish and adventerous times they have had yet. There will be laughing, tears, possibly some irritable looks :) and many, "Oohh, that's cute!" times to be had.

After casually talking of living together, an opportunity arose to see this lovely 2 bedroom, 1 bath Loft Apartment with Old Hardwood Floors, Berber Carpet, Chandeliers in Bedrooms, Exposed Brick Walls, 15 Foot Ceilings and three 12 foot tall windows over looking the square in Gallatin. We have a coffee shop below us, a book store, Italian Resteraunt and a Gourmet Sandwich Shop.

We hope for most of you to be our guest one day in this beautiful place!

Enjoy some pictures!

Story to be continued...

The Lion King

This past Friday night my handsome boyfriend, Jeremy, took me to see The Lion King for our six month anniversary...and let me just say, AMAZING. We started out with dinner at Mirror on 12th Ave. The food was incredible and the ambiance was lovely :) We were a bit rushed, but managed to enjoy a very tasty meal!

Now, on to the Lion King... I have seen many broadway musicals, but I would have to say if I was giving out a Tony, my award in creativity would definitely go to The Lion King. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to create costumes of animals, while still showing the actors faces and staying away from the cheesey animal costumes...BUT, they did it. And the music...ahhh, the music...it really made you feel like you were in Africa staring out into the safari while being soothed by voices in perfect harmony. I was so pleased that Jeremy loved it as well. This was his first experience with a broadway musical :)If you don't have tickets, I would highly recommend buying them and going to see this captivating performance! It is running through the month of November.

If this was my six month anniversary present, I can't wait to see what my year one will be! :)

Fashion Icon

This is the first of many shallow and random post...

I love Sarah Jessica Parker. I love her as an actress and as a fashion icon. This woman knows how to wear an outfit and produce a tv show. Sex and the City...I miss you.

a new perspective

On November 15th my church, Sumner Life, is heading off to the "city that never sleeps" for a missions trip that is bound to open our eyes and hearts. This will be my Ninth trip to New York but this will be the first time I will be experiencing another part of culture that the city has to offer...the homeless population. According to the New York School of Urban Ministry, New York city has over 100,000 homeless people surviving on the streets of this small island. In the past I have seen a tiny part of this population, but I have overlooked them thinking that this was just part of the city. New York City=lots of homeless people. I have never taken the time to wonder why they are living out there. I will admit to taking an ignorant view point on this subject, at times, where I have said, "they could get a job if they really wanted to." For some of these people, that is most certainly the case. But for others, there have been devastating circumstances that have led them to this way of life. And then there is me, walking around with my credit cards and my $1000 that I have saved specifically just to blow on shoes and purses, completely ignoring that these people could ever need anything from me. And I have seen them, sleeping under garbage against walls with no socks on, and I have just looked as them as part of the ambiance of the city. I am ashamed. So, I am looking forward to this trip to allow me to see this city that I love in a new way. I have always said that I loved the city for its diversity...now I will be putting that statement to the test. Pray for me and the team from Sumner Life as we go.
